Teleprompter says: don't show soles of shoes to Arab world

see article below, "Some Israelis Insulted By Obama Picture;" Posted by Howard Arenstein
Israeli TV newscasters Tuesday night interpreted a photo taken Monday in the Oval Office of President Obama talking on the phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as an "insult" to Israel. They saw the incident as somewhat akin to an incident last year, when the Iraqi reporter threw a shoe at President Bush in Baghdad. It is considered an insult in the Arab world to show the sole of your shoe to someone. It is not a Jewish custom necessarily, but Israel feels enough a part of the Middle East after 60 years to be insulted too. Full story

"Spread the wealth" classic O moment
L.A.W. -- remember this story from the campaign trail? Why the hell did America not see Obama for what he is? See story
Europe swings Right as depression deepens

It is not clear why a chunk of the blue-collar working base has swung almost overnight from Left to Right, but clearly we are seeing the delayed detonation of two political time-bombs: rising unemployment and the growth of immigrant enclaves that resist assimilation. Note that Right-wing incumbents in France (Sarkozy) and Italy (Berlusconi), survived the European elections unscathed. Full story

Chris "O makes my leg shiver" Mathews and Newsweek
L.A.W.-- no media bias here. LOL, Newsweek Editor Evan Thomas says Obama "sort a god," in interview with Chris "O makes me orgasm" Mathews. Ironically, Thomas just two years ago, under the Bush Administration said, "it's our job in the media to bash the president." MNSBC is a joke with Mathews, MadCow and Obermann; their numbers suck and they are three reasons the public can't trust the media.

US Unemployment Rate Gallops Ahead of Expectations

L.A.W.--- No shit Sherlock. The economy needs leadership that gets it... instead we have the closest thing to a counter-capitalist at the helm. There's nothing to Obama when it comes to understanding and respecting capitalism, much less how hard-working small business entrepreneurs and large corporations have created the greatest economic engine in the history of mankind.
We suggest focusing resources toward empowering small businesses, versus going after the top wage earners, who by the way, are the ones who create most of the jobs!!
"The economy clearly has gotten substantially worse from the initial predictions that were being made, not just by the White House, but by all of the private sector," said Austan Goolsbee. L.A.W.-- oh really? all the private sector was wrong...hardly.
Economists point out that the current jobless rate is already higher than the hypothetical rate that was used to calculate the health of banks and other financial institutions in so-called "stress tests" earlier this year. And, the upward unemployment trajectory is expected to continue in coming months, even if the overall economy begins to recover. Full story
Democrats Weigh Health Mandate as Obama Urges Taxing Wealthy

L.A.W. -- Obama is cramming through universal health care, a very large entitlement program, as fast as possible. He knows damn well the American public would not allow the spending, in light of the debt for future generations.
Obama states he is “mindful” about how “ordinary Americans are able to foot the bills." Oh really, do we get away with running wild with spending because we have on-demand printing and the Chinese government buying our treasury notes? Obama may well be clinically insane on the topic of how we "foot bills." At a minimum he's reckless with our credit and hamstringing future generations with unsustainable government spending and bankrupt socialistic ideals. Our "well traveled" President would do well to pay close attention to health care limitations in Canada, Britain and Germany and be honest with the American public.
From the story: "The effort to overhaul health-care would affect a sector that makes up 17 percent of the U.S. economy. The goal of Democratic supporters is to provide insurance to most of the nation’s 46 million uninsured, and lower the soaring cost of care. A key challenge is the potential impact of legislation on an already rising U.S. budget deficit that may reach $1.8 trillion this year." full story
Perspective

He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.. "One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
"The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.
"The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?
"The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
"How the government does business today"
It is the month of June, a resort town sits next to the shores of a lake. It is raining, and the little town looks totally deserted. It is tough times, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit.
Suddenly, a rich tourist comes to town. He enters the only hotel, lays a 100 dollar bill on the reception counter, and goes to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one.
The hotel proprietor takes the 100 dollar bill and runs to pay his debt to the butcher. The Butcher takes the 100 dollar bill, and runs to pay his debt to the pig raiser. The pig raiser takes the 100 dollar bill, and runs to pay his debt to the supplier of his feed and fuel. The supplier of feed and fuel takes the 100 dollar bill and runs to pay his debt to the town's prostitute that in these hard times, gave her "services" on credit. Th hooker runs to the hotel, and pays off her debt with the 100 dollar bill to the hotel proprietor to pay for the rooms that she rented when she brought her clients there. The hotel proprietor then lays the 100 dollar bill back on the counter so that the rich tourist will not suspect anything.
At that moment, the rich tourist comes down after inspecting the rooms, and takes his 100 dollar bill, after saying that he did not like any of the rooms, and leaves town. No one earned anything. However, the whole town is now without debt, and looks to the future with a lot of optimism.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the United States Government is doing business today.
